Is Losing Weight With Coconut A Scam?

There are so many different dieting plans around nowadays. Some of them are good and some of them are not so good. When a new diet is invented, the inventor will probably try to add some magic ingredient to the diet so as to make the new invention stand out from the other dieting plans. This is the way to launch something new in a market. However, are the magic ingredients really a magic. It is not always the case.

For example, there are diets which treat coconut oil as the magic ingredients described above. It is claimed that it can help boost the metabolic rate of a person. It is also said that it can be burnt by our body within minutes, if not seconds. However, the above claims are not really true. The fact is that coconut oil is a kind of saturated fats rich oil.

If you investigate the dieting plan, you will find that it is actually a simple diet which empathize the reduction in the consumption of carbohydrates. You can find a lot of similarities when you compare it with some low-carb Diet.

In the first stage, carbohydrates are not allowed. This is surely the same as Atkins Diet. Yet it is different from Atkins Diet in a way that you have to swallow some coconut oil everyday. Usually you will need to take two to three tablespoons of the oil. In this stage, you will be expected to lose ten pounds.

Then you can take some carbs again. This is really very similar to Atkins right? You will take some whole grains and potatoes. From this point, you will try to lose something like two pounds steadily per week. And as in the case of some low-carb diets, you will take more carbs in the last stage. Yet you will still have to two coconut oil everyday.

However, there is actually no solid scientific ground for this diet. There is nothing to prove the relationship between coconut oils and weight loss. As mentioned, it is rich in saturated fat and it is not considered something healthy. In fact, experts in dieting will tell you that saturated fat is not recommended when you are on diet.

It also seems coconut oil does not really plan any crucial role in the dieting plan. Instead, it is apparent that the reduction in the consumption of carbohydrates is the main reason for weight loss!
