3 Easy Ways To Lose Weight

If you think you are the only one who finds it hard to lose weight, then you are wrong. Although a high metabolic rate is a great advantage for those who possess it, even they need to DO something if they are looking to lose weight.

Here are a few ways of doing so without making your life miserable:

1. Diet

Do not go on a "diet". Controlling what you eat should not be a passing phase. Eating healthy is a lifestyle. Instead of abstaining from everything that you love to eat, cut down on the amount and frequency of them. Count your calories by simply reading the "nutritional facts" printed at the back of every food pack. Get rid of all the refined carbohydrate from your diet. Think that is complicated? You are wrong. Instead of the white bread and the white rice, switch to the browns of the same. The latter does not throw away the hull, bran and fiber from the food, making them low on the calorie count.

Go low on the sugar. This means you DO have to give up on ice cream, chocolates, cakes, and alcohol. Consume them in moderation. If you feel hungry, drink fresh fruit juice, munch on a bowl of rice crispies or have the fruits whole. Drink enough water to keep yourself hydrated from inside.

2. Workout

No matter how much you control what you eat, the effect will not be half as good as it will be if you compliment it with a regular exercise routine. This does not require spending hours at the gym every day. Choose any form of movement you like- walking, running, dancing, or take up a sport like tennis or swimming. Balance your workout routine with proper amount of cardio and weight training. Both need to be performed under professional supervision; at least until you have adequate knowledge of their functions.

Weight training works on the muscle fat, burning them faster than cardio. Cardio improves the blood circulation and keeps the heart pumping healthily. Do not be turned off by the sweat during such workouts. Remember that sweating is an excellent way of detoxifying the body.

3. Old Habits Need to Die

Smoking and exercise do not go well with each other. If you are a smoker, quit. Join a rehab or take up a preoccupation that will force you to stay away from it. The best way to do this is to work out regularly. Chew gum or suck on a mint whenever you feel like smoking. Ask your friends and family to support you through this time.

Any form of alcohol contains high levels of glucose. This does not help your goal to lose weight. It in fact worsens it. It also dehydrates the body. Therefore, cut down on the drinking. Drink red wine instead. It is an active antioxidant.

The most important thing to remember is that you need to continue this routine even after you lose weight. Otherwise, it will just settle itself back on you as soon as you quit.
