The negative calorie diet is based on foods possessing negative calorie effect. Negative calorie foods use more calories to digest than the calorie content of the foods themselves. The additional calories in the process of digestion are taken up from the stored fat in the body. It is therefore natural to consider a diet containing these foods for weight loss. The negative calorie foods include vegetables, fruits, legumes, lentils and beans. It is therefore possible to provide all major nutrients in a negative calorie diet. By eating these foods, you will not feel hungry. If you remain physically active and eat these foods, you will drop pounds permanently.

Note that negative calorie foods and negative calorie diet will not show any magical results if you eat unhealthy foods. Don't think that you can eat a tin of potato chips in the morning and eat some negative calorie foods in the evening to counter balance the bad effects of chips.
