Jorge Cruise's '100 Diet' Helps You Lose 18 Pounds in 2 Weeks: Recipes

If you feel that your cravings for sugar are preventing you from winning the battle of the bulge, a hot new diet just might be the answer. Crafted by Jorge Cruise, who rose to fame with his belly fat cure, this new diet has drawn attention because of its unusual way of restricting sugar, reports ABC News.

A New Twist On Low-Carb Diets
Jorge's low-carb diet takes a different approach by letting them eat their cake by restricting sugar. In his book "The 100," he focuses on insulin, he told ABC News. "It’s all about the insulin,” he said. “Everyone thinks weight loss is all about eat less, exercise more … a calorie is a calorie and as much as I love equality, I’m not abiding equality when it comes to calories. Not all calories are the same.”

He uses a formula to help dieters track how many "sugar calories" they eat daily, with a limit of 100.

Read the Label
Dieters learn how to interpret labels on his plan. “So here’s the total formula, bottom line: total carbs times four,” Jorge said. “Total carbs times four will tell you how many sugar calories. … Say it’s 20 total carbs in an apple. Times it by four, you’re looking at 80 sugar calories.”

Consider a serving of brown rice. It contains 35 grams of carbs. By using his formula to calculate sugar carbs, you mutiply 35 by four. Result: You're over your limit of 100 sugar calories.

The good news: Some very tasty foods are allowed on his plan, such as whipped cream and red wine. In addition, Jorge recommends experimenting with creating your own low-carb cookies and cakes by swapping almond flour for regular flour. And as provided below, his book also includes delicious recipes to help you make those swaps.
