Embrace Your Destined Teen Fitness!

It's summer time ... and I would bet you have been watching a lot of t.v. and probably spending countless hours on the computer... playing games or surfing the web.

Well... this is a great time to begin your physical transformation with a few simple changes in your daily routine.
I promise you... you will begin to feel more empowered and confidant to tackle all of life's challenges as you embrace these changes.

I definitely know school can be a very stressful situation for many students... so before we start back up for another year... let's start today with a plan for your improved teen fitness.
First things first.. you must identify an exercise you are willing to tackle each day. This may consist of running, biking, aerobics, jumping rope or any other exercise that gets your heart rate up. Personally, I prefer jumping rope and running sprints. I also weight train twice a week and occasionally work the ab wheel before school.

Again... whatever exercise you feel comfortable with... that's the one you should focus on.

Now that we have decided on specific exercises for our improved teen fitness... we need to address another major component of our physical fitness... DIET!
Okay... let's talk about diet and what we should be eating. Well... first I recognize many students have been conditioned to eat unhealthy foods though this must change if you want to sustain your improved teen fitness.

Let me describe what I have witnessed myself in high school... Student "A" is running late to class so he stops by the vending machine for a delicious and absolutely healthy start to the day. A quick drive-by the machine results in grabbing a honey bun or hot Cheetos and don't forget to wash it down with a 20 oz. beverage that has enough sugar to kill a small child.
By second period, the sugar crash has occurred and our student needs more empty calories for prolonged energy. This results in another beverage full of sugar and another bag of chips or a candy bar.
A few hours later and we have arrived at lunch. This consists of burgers and fries or maybe some pizza. Remember we must have something to drink so our student grabs another sugar beverage from the vending machine.
As another successful school day comes to an end, our student makes another quick stop at the vending machine for the ride or walk home. Another beverage and high caloric snack gets consumed by our sluggish and over-weight student.
Does this sound familiar... I bet it does. This is a common routine for many adolescents.
Though remember you have control of your life and if you really want to change and transform your body and life ... you most definitely can!
Begin by getting up early each day and eating a healthy breakfast... eggs, fruit, green tea, healthy cereal, tomato juice, orange juice, milk, and oatmeal. All of these are excellent options for breakfast.
Now ... when you are at school eat healthy snacks like almonds and walnuts. Also drink water instead of all of those carbonated drinks. I'm telling you those are terrible for you.

Okay... at lunch eat healthy options like salads or other healthy foods. If your school doesn't serve many healthy options then bring your own lunch.

Again these simple changes in your everyday routine will transform your body and you will begin to feel empowered to tackle all that life may throw your way.

Remember to move your body with physical exercise each day and begin making healthy choices with your diet. I am faithful you can and will change your life for the better when you make these simple changes.

Have some fun along your journey and God Bless!
