Best Way to Lose Weight - Our Metabolism

What is the best way to lose weight? The answer to this question is heavily sought after by people who want to lose weight fast. However, the best way to lose weight for an individual may differ to another individual with many factors to consider. Regardless, the best way to lose weight for you means you should be able to burn calories faster. And what sets pace for our body to burn calories. It is our metabolism rate. So how do we increase our metabolism rate to ensure we can burn calories efficiently?

There are many small things you can do

1) Eat your breakfast! It is very important to eat your breakfast first thing in the morning. If you do not, your body wil think it is in starvation mode and it will slow down your metabolism rate to conserve energy.

2) Ensure that you have sufficient calories for your body to use up througout the day. Have proper meals throughout the day. Again if you do not, your body will think it is starving and your metabolism rate will slow down.

3) Exercise! This is another important factor. People who do cardio and weight training both develop lean muscles and also maintain their muscles. This muscle will allow them to sustain high levels of metabolism. You should also know that lean muscles burn seventy times more calories as fat does!

4) Drink your water. Water is needed for our metabolism rate to work effectively.

And there are two things you absolutely must not do

1) Fad diets. You must know that those who go on a fast weight loss diet or fad diet, you will cause your metabolism to drop to a low level. This is because your body does not receive the right nutrition and sufficient calories for your body to burn. Because you do not have enough calories to burn, your body drops your metabolism rate to conserve energy. You will also lose muscles because muscle is heavier than fat; the less weight the less energy your body uses.

2) Diet pills. When your heart rate increases, so does your metabolism rate. Your resting metabolic rate is affected by your heart rate. Resting metabolic rate is the rate where the body burns calories througout the day to keep it going. Diet pills contain alot of caffeine, ephedra or guarana. These ingredients increase your heart rate and thus increases your metabolism rate. However, these pills may cause health complications in the future such as high blood pressure, anxiety, insomnia, addiction or even death.

Therefore, exercise and have a balanced diet is the only right way to go. Do remember though, to lose weight, your focus is not to increase your metabolism rate. Your focus is to try to change your lifestyle slowly to a healthier one. This include, watching the food you eat (nutritional content, calorie intake, meal size etc.), exercise (cardio and weight training, frequency etc.)
