How to Lose Water Weight Fast

Water Weight – What Is It?

Water weight is usually caused by a body that is rebelling against being treated poorly. You keep trying to lose weight and, well, your body just rebels. It insists on holding on to excess water that is making you look heavier, feel worse, and looking like a cream puff.

This is called “water retention.” Of course you already knew that, but the big question is, “Why is this happening to you...why has your body decided to retain water?”

Causes of Water Weight (Water Retention)

There are several causes of water retention. If you suspect a physical problem, you should immediately make an appointment with your doctor. However, water retention is often caused by failing to treat your body as you should. Some probable causes are:

<> Lack of exercise.

<> A poor diet.

<> Dehydration (the body retains water because it is not getting enough water).

<> Certain Medications can sometimes cause water retention.

Water Retention – What To Do About It

Water retention is a real problem for those who want to lose weight and look better. Because of water retention, you can even be losing fat weight and still look fat and not lose any pounds.

You feel bloated, swollen and uncomfortable. But you don’t have to put up with it.

In order to look and feel better, you must do the right things to get rid of that excess water. Here are some suggestions that should help:

1. Drink more water.

Yes, I know, when you drink water you immediately gain weight...but it’s the weight of water in your stomach that will soon pass out of your body and take a lot of bad stuff with it. It is not the same as water “retention.” Drinking plenty of water will tell your body that it doesn’t need to retain water, convincing it to let go of the water that was puffing you up.

2. Start exercising regularly.

Exercise increases your breathing rate, which in turn expels moisture from your body with every breath. Exuberant exercise can also make you sweat, which not only helps get rid of water, but salt too. If you can’t do intense aerobics, don’t be discouraged, a good 30-minute walk each day will go a long way to help get rid of that excess water. I walk 30 minutes or more every day except Sunday and am enjoying the benefits of it.

3. Cut down your salt.

Salt causes dehydration. When the body is dehydrated it tells itself that it needs to hang on to all the water it can, causing water retention. Cut down on the salt and you should see the difference.

Now you have my 3 most important suggestions for losing water weight. So if you want to look and feel better, start doing these three things and you will not only feel better, but you will see the difference in the mirror and on your scale.
