The Secret to Losing Weight Fast

What is the first thing that you think to do in order to finally lose that extra weight you are carrying around? Don't just skim through that question lackadaisically. I want you to really think about it. Your answer to this question will go a very long way in determining your results during this permanent lifestyle change. If you are like most people, your answer was probably one of the following: starve myself, start walking or running on the treadmill, buy a "fat burning" supplement, or lift weights. There is no real wrong answer here, but this is kind of like those questions in English class where the "best" answer is the only right choice. That best answer is H.I.I.T. in combination with the given of healthy eating habits.

This is too easy

H.I.I.T. is high intensity interval training and I am quite sure that you have heard plenty about it by now. Keep in mind that there is a right and wrong way to use this training method just as there is a right and wrong way to manipulate your diet. So here's the great news mentioned above. You should never spend more than 45 minutes at the gym! When I say you should never spend more than 45 minutes at the gym I am accounting for parking, going to the locker room, the actual workout, and stretching. That leaves you with about a 35 minute workout. That is all you need to get in the best shape of your life in no time. Please don't take my word for it. Check out this definitive conclusion from a study by J Am Coll Nutr. 1997 Feb;16(1):68-73. CONCLUSION:

"High heart rate intensity exercise training without dietary manipulation resulted in a decrease in body fat, but not weight change, as well as a decrease in the intake of saturated fat and cholesterol in normal weight young women. These changes were not observed after low heart rate intensity training." These women lost Bodyfat. This was not some fluctuation of water weight so commonly witnessed by those who merely cut carbs or calories in general.

More Great News

But wait, there is more good news. These results and results from countless other studies have led to innovative exercise that combines your strength training and cardiovascular training allowing for the amazing benefit of EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption). This is commonly known as the "afterburn" effect. Your benefit from the afterburn effect is an elevated metabolism for 24-48 hours! This phenomenon makes your job so much easier and can also be the reason you crave healthy foods after your workout. Your body knows what it needs to return to equilibrium. These get in, get out, and get on with your life workouts are the future. If you're not convinced yet, I have yet another reason below.

Balance Your Hormones

High intensity interval training also raises your growth hormone. Before you think of steroids and baseball players, let me give you a brief list of benefits that come from healthy growth hormone levels. - Better sleep - A healthy fat burning atmosphere within your body - Healthier hair, skin, and nails. - Better energy levels - Fight osteoporosis (especially important for women)

This doesn't mean that you have to go flip tires and jump onto a box for 20 minutes. High intensity interval training can actually be done on your preferred form of cardiovascular exercise equipment. This could be an elliptical, treadmill, or stairmaster. The best way is of course, using your own bodyweight as the equipment and performing exercises such as burpees, mountainclimbers, and plenty of other engaging ones.

I can only hope that you have learned some valuable lessons here. Remember to work smart and not for hours and hours. Well I'm off to go help someone else achieve their dreams by reaching their weight loss goals! See you around.
