The 6 Essential Habits of Successful Fat Loss

According to Aristotle, we are what we repeatedly do. What we do repeatedly is often known as our habits. Our habits can make or break us when we are pursuing success in any area of life, especially fat loss.

What I have found, is that success leaves clues. From working with 100's of clients we have identified 6 key habits that bind all successful clients together. If you take action and implements the 6 Essential Habits you will find easy fat loss success that is not only fast, but sustainable. Read on to find out more.

1. They exercise at least 4 hours per week

The vast majority of clients who see the best results exercise at least 4 days a week. A piece of advice we received from Strength Coach Charles Poliquin is that 3 sessions a week gives good results, but 4 sessions gives 150 % better results. We can absolutely verify this to be accurate, the most successful clients exercise 4 sessions a week. They get even better results if they participate in resistance training as their primary form of exercise.

2. They stick to a low carbohydrate diet initially, and add carbs as they deserve them.

Carbs are not an evil food group, but they generally need to be earned. We recommend the majority of our clients go low carbohydrate initially and add them back in as they get leaner and can use them more effectively for fuel. When clients follow our formula, they get better results and never regain lost fat when they add carbohydrates back in.

3. They emphasise proteins and fats for breakfast.

The clients with the best fat loss results eat mainly proteins and fats for breakfast. What most clients report back to us is much better feelings of energy and focus throughout the day and better performance in their workout. This is generally due to better blood sugar control as fats and proteins are the best macronutrients for this purpose.

4. They supplement intelligently.

Most people when they start exploring the world of nutritional supplements go to their local vitamin store and buy whatever is recommended by the store assistant, someone who is not trained in these matters and whose job is to sell products. This is not only ineffective, but potentially hazardous. We have found that the people who successfully lose the most fat go get a blood test and get it analysed to find out exactly what they need for success. This way they are addressing what their physiology actually needs and they are not going to be wasting cash on unnecessary products.

5. They live an active life

The most successful fat loss clients are not the ones who come to the gym and spend the rest of their week sitting on their butts watching TV all day, they are the ones who have an active lifestyle. Taking up a sport, pursuing a hobby or even getting a dog and being active throughout the day has a profound effect on fat loss results and lifestyle satisfaction. Find a sport or activity that you love and go for it.

6. They occasionally go off their diet and have fun but do not experience guilt.

All people go off their diet at some time. It is actually a healthy thing to do, it gives you both a physiological and psychological break and can actually be beneficial for the Thyroid. The thing that sets apart successful fat loss clients is they do not feel guilty about what they do and get right back on the band wagon the next day. They do not try to over exercise or over restrict calories the next day and continue on with their lives. Most importantly, they enjoy their cheat when they have it and do not regret it.
