The Simple Solution For Losing Weight

     Many people find it impossible to stick to a diet and consistently fail to lose the weight they know they need to. Many keep trying all the new dieting ideas that come on the market hoping that one of them will work for them. But the miracle still does not happen. It has been estimated that 95 percent of diets fail and the reason for this is the human body has been engineered for survival in harsh conditions and the minute it senses a shortage of food it goes in its 'protective mode' and holds on to every scrap of fat it can.

One of the biggest mistakes in dieting is cutting calories way too low. You should never starve yourself as this is never going to work. The World Health Organization states that a starvation diet is 1800 calories a day for women and 2200 for men. Yet people the world over are trying to diet on way less calories than that. We know this now yet diet programs are still being pumped out with calorie levels way below these figures.

You will never win working against the systems that the human body has had in place since ancient times. The only hope in the battle against being overweight is to work with your body not against it and if you treat it right it will give up its fat stores.

The first thing to do is to address the reason you have become overweight which is likely to be because your metabolism (your body's engine) has slowed. If you do not keep your muscular system toned and strong with proper exercise your metabolic rate is not running as efficiently as it should be allowing body fat to accumulate.

So into the gym we go and start a strength training program to tone up soft weak muscles to get your motor revved up again so you are burning more fuel (calories) every minute of the day and night even when you are asleep. This is what is going to get you slim and trim again, your muscle tissue. Don't worry that you might get big, if you are overweight now you are already bigger than you should be.

Muscle tissue is your friend not the enemy as it is what is going to solve your excess weight problem. Treat the big flabby fat that spills out of your clothing as the enemy not the little bit of fat burning muscle tissue underneath all that fat.

The next thing we must do is to support the exercise program with proper nutrition. This means ditching the processed stuff and replacing it with quality natural whole foods. Small meals every 2-3 hours throughout the day are how you need to eat to lose body fat. Each of these meals should contain at least 20 grams of quality protein and the balance made up with vegetables.

These two strategies will always work - that is why physique competitors and fitness models eat and exercise this way. You need to be able to put some effort into your exercise program so you need to fuel this with your food. It sounds a simple solution and it is you just have to put it in place and keep doing it.

Surely it is a lot easier to do this than watch your weight continue to increase till you have a serious health problem. Nip it in the bud now while you have a choice as one day that choice will have been taken away from you. Soon it will all be such a habit that it will be no more difficult than what you are doing now - and that really is not working for you is it?
