Make These Seven Changes To How You Eat And You Will Lose Weight

Is it possible to lose weight without dieting? Yes, but it does require a change of mind set. Changing what and how you eat daily can be a difficult process, especially if your current meals contain a lot of processed foods. However by thinking more about your food choices and introducing a meal planner, this change can be easier than it seems.

The most important thing to remember is that each meal serves a purpose and you want to get the most out of everything you put into your body. Try and bear these seven simple tips in mind as you plan your meals.

- Make sure you do just that, plan your meals in advance. This way you will know what is in each meal, the quantity to make and what you need to buy from the store. That way you have what you need to make your meals and nothing is wasted.

- Breakfast is the most important meal of your day. Having been asleep for up to 8 hours and you need to re-fuel your body. Avoid breakfast foods that are high in sugar content, read the label before you buy them. Eating a meal rich in sugars will give you a very short lived energy boost and you will notice that by mid-morning you will have an energy slump. This is due to a sudden decrease in blood sugars and as a result you may reach for more foods high in sugar to snack on mid-morning.

- You are better to choose food that will not only keep your energy levels up but will keep you fuller for longer, you are less likely to reach for a mid-morning snack. Good options for breakfast include wholemeal toast with light spread/ marmalade or cottage cheese, a glass of orange juice and tea or coffee. Try not to have sugar in your tea and coffee!

- For many of us, lunch is often rushed and therefore we can end up choosing unhealthy fatty options. Many people hurry their lunch by not planning before hand what and when to eat and so they end up eating a poor choice of food. By choosing a healthy nutritious option and chewing slowly, you will not only feel better and enjoy your food but are less likely to suffer from digestive problems in the afternoon. The choices for lunch are endless and need not take ages to prepare. By simply re-adjusting your attitude to food and the time you take to eat it you will be eating fresh appetizing food in no time.

- Do not skip dinner. Many people on fad diets skip dinner or eat something extremely low in nutrients. By missing meals you can cause your body to go into starvation mode, whereby any food you do consume, good or bad, will be immediately stored as fat by your body. By eating a light and nutritious meal at dinner time, you will keep your metabolism boosted overnight and have a good quality sleep.

- Don't eat a large heavy meal late at night, this can be poorly digested and result in a restless sleep pattern. Try again to keep things simple with pre-planned fresh home cooked meals.

- Most importantly you must not put your body through constant dieting. Whilst you might start losing weight quickly, you are more than likely to put it all back on and in some cases end up heavier than you were before. Not only do you end up putting the weight back on but putting the body through constant dieting can result in poor general health. You need to focus on changing your mind frame and attitude towards food and your relationship with healthy eating.

Changing your eating habits is one of the best ways to lose weight. You can greatly improve your overall health and finally begin to lose weight, get in shape and most importantly keep the weight off! Following the tips above is not going to put your body through a starvation diet or deprive it of food, so what do you have to lose?
