Lose Ten Pounds -- Permanently

You and I both know that it isn't actually awfully arduous to lose ten pounds in the first place all it demands is self government, working out and chosing to eat healthy foods! The huge struggle is retaining that new weight, and remaining healthy while you do it. We also know that this is a lot easier to say than to do.

Unfortunately there are many myths and stories around about how to sustain the weight loss. Some you may not realise are myths, because, like old wives tales, many of them have a a couple of grains of truth there and those few grains of truth keep them live. Let's kill a few of those myths!

1 -- Skipping Breakfast Will Help You keep The new weight.

No it won't! There are many benefits to eating breakfast; the main one is that it resumes your metabolism after sleeping. You are also less likely to have high fat or sugar snacks before your noon meal (if you were able to resist all of these snacks then you probably wouldn't have a weight problem in the beginning). Ann additional fundamental reason not to miss breakfast is that if you do your body will draw the energy needs from your muscles rather than from fat.

2 -- Eating A Low Carb Diet Will Be Sure To maintain The weight off.

Partly true. If the carbs that you stop eating are things like sugar then, yes that's a splendid idea to keep the weight off. But there are a lot more cabs than just sugar. Wholemeal bread is a source of carbohydrate and for most of us this is an quality food (it's obviously not a good source of food for people with wheat allergies!) Your body needs carbohydrates, for energy and building muscles merely cutting out a whole food group could easily damage your health rather than help it.

3 -- As Long As You exercise You Can Eat What You Want.

Not true. Whilst it is true that a lot of exercise means that you can eat a little more, if you want to stay healthy than that little more you eat needs to be things like vegetables fruits and lean meats. Eating the inappropriate things can bear upon your wellness as well as your weight. If you are exercising a lot then you want to put good quality fuel into your body so that you feel better rather than worse.

4 -- You Need To Stay On A Low Cal Diet So That You Don't Gain The Weight Back.

Partly true. If you have gained weight then you've obviously done it by eating ! So you can't return to the same patterns of eating that made you to gain weight if you're wanting for the weight to stay off. But weight losses aren抰 just about numbers on scales it's also about how you feel, so if you want to look thin you need to eat the right things, and enough of it.

It would be easy to carry on on with many more myths that should to be busted. Losing weight, keeping it off and remaining healthy isn't rocket science. And if you really want to do it, it is easy once you set your mind to it.

Whilst many people may be looking for a quick fix, there really is only one way to lose weight and keep it off permanently. You need to working out, chose the right foods, and use willpower. Losing weight and keeping it off can become a matter of life and death take charge of yourself before it gets that serious.
