What to Do With a Flabby Face

Loss of fat in face areas such as the cheeks and chin is something that many of us strive for. While losing fat around the stomach and torso area is important, and many of us also wish we had much slimmer legs, it is fat on the face that everyone sees and that can detract from our good looks. In our face is our personality, and if our smile causes bunches of fat to collect and congeal then that抯 not going to impress any potential partners. At the same time, while we can hide any fat on our body by dressing correctly to emphasise our better areas and to direct the eye where we want it to do, there抯 nothing we can do for the face short of wearing a balaclava ?not recommended (though you can make your face appear slightly thinner by wearing your hair differently).

Unfortunately however, many people struggle to lose their face fat, and hours in the gym can leave them with a toned physique but a flabby face. These people aren抰 doing anything wrong however, but their genetics are simply working against them. The problem is that you can抰 target fat loss, and what is meant by this is that when your body burns fat; it does so in a random order based on predetermined genetic factors. If you run 100 miles then, for some people that will mean they burn fat off their face, but for others they抣l lose it off their bum. Your body doesn抰 discriminate between sources of energy and it won抰 use up any other until the area it抯 focussed on is depleted.

There are many face 慹xercises?on the net that promise to help you achieve loss of fat in the face, but these are mostly cons and leave you looking and feeling a little stupid gurning before bed every night (especially if you抮e sleeping with a significant other who is bound to kindly point out just how ridiculous you look). This could improve muscle tone around your face which in theory could lead to it looking slightly firmer, but it抯 more likely to remain invisible under any layers of flab on your face or even to make those areas look larger still. It won抰 cause loss of fat in face features as your body will still get the energy from elsewhere, and in fact as these exercises are hardly taxing, they抮e actually less likely to affect your facial flab than other unrelated exercises such as running.

The only port of call then is to use lots of cardiovascular exercise and simply not get disheartened (there抯 a pun in their somewhere). You will burn the fat off your stomach first, perhaps your bum, perhaps if you抮e female and unfortunate your boobs will go too, but eventually you抣l see it in your face. The random nature of fat loss simply means that you have to work harder and for longer to see the results you want and that will only mean that you抮e even healthier and more toned overall.

As well as exercise, fat loss in face features is also dependent on diet, and of course the fewer calories you eat and the more you burn, the more impressive your fat loss will be and the quicker you抣l get down to losing it in the areas you want (think of it as a waiting list). This means cutting down on sugary snacks, carbohydrates and fats but not completely eliminating them from your diet as the body needs them to perform various vital functions. Don抰 listen to fad diets as these are based on spurious science at best; instead simply lower your caloric intake while keeping the ratio of the food groups at something more natural.

If after losing a lot of weight you notice that your face still looks 慺labby? it may not be fat that you need to worry about. If you lose lots of weight in any area then it can leave your skin looking saggy after being stretched. To get rid of baggy skin around your face you will then need to look into other techniques ?moisturising creams with collagen, laser treatment etc. or even a tuck or face lift (as a last resort) to tighten the skin up around your face again.
