Weight Loss Plans - Why You Have To Burn The Fat

Looking around at the many weight loss plans and diet plans that are sprouting up everywhere must make you wonder why so many people want to put themselves through all that. It's a pretty reasonable question to ask. Why should you or anyone be concerned about gaining extra weight? Here you will find your question answered.

Being overweight is an impairment to your health, just like a heart condition or muscle pain. And just like these, excess weight needs to be addressed and cured. Obesity, which is the aggravated form of being overweight and results when you leave the increasing weight unattended, is a chronic condition. People who suffer from obesity usually have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or greater. A lot of health hazards are associated with being overweight; research has proven that individuals who suffer from obesity or being overweight are at an increased risk of contracting health conditions like diabetes, cancer, heart attack, stroke, etc. Hence, your weight has a critical aspect of your health and can't be ignored.

While gaining weight may happen so silently you won't realize what happened till the scales hit a three digit figure. At that point, reducing weight is still possible but you would have saved yourself a lot of head ache if you had been cautious in your eating habits and lifestyle.

One misconception about fat is that it's pure evil. And while on weight loss plans, many people eliminate all fat containing foods from their daily routine. This actually results in the wearing down and weakening of body tissues. Also, you have to understand that if you're at normal weight, then you don't need to be eliminating fat from your diet. Doing so again places you at a health risk, because the fat is used by the body cells to heal and grow. Of course you should take a good look at your diet and make sure you're taking healthy fats like those found in fish oil or avocados. For weight loss, the target is to burn 慹xcess' fat and maintain a normal fat ratio to ensure proper bodily growth.

Also, while it may seem counter intuitive, you should actually never skip meals while trying to lose weight. Skipping meals will actually put your body in a state of starvation. And the body, instead of burning fat, will actually begin to store it from whatever calories are available to it. Eating small portioned meals at gaps of no more than 3-4 hours gives your body a steady flow of nutrition and calories. While you may burn extra calories by consuming less but frequently, you will not risk storing calories by consuming less at with prolonged time periods in between.

Finally, while it may be tempting to lose weight by simply taking some pills, this is most probably the worst practice. Weight loss is best when it is the result of healthy and sustainable lifestyle changes. Also, food supplements like multi vitamins are a last resort, to be taken only when your meals don't measure up to the body's requirement of these vitamins and minerals. Relying on them to burn the excess weight while indulging in a Happy Meal every so often is not the healthy way to trim down.
