  • Teenagers must keep in mind that skipping meals is not a good idea and doesn’t help a person to lose weight. Infact on the contrary, skipping meals makes a person eat more and engage in binge eating which would in turn raise the body weight.
  • Teenagers should include a lot of fruits and vegetables in their diet as these items contain all the important vitamins, minerals etc which are essential for the growth especially during the teenage years.
  • Junk food must be avoided at all costs because junk food contains high saturated fat, high sodium and high sugar which make a person gain weight. Infact junk food or fast food items are low on the fiber content which is an important requirement for teenagers.
  • Teenagers should also cut back on the consumption of fizzy drinks and rather go for fresh fruit juices, milk and sugar free drinks.
  • Teenagers must drink a lot of water at regular intervals so as to keep themselves hydrated.
  • Avoid the addition of salt in the food items if you wish to lose weight and engage in healthy dieting.
  • Eat small meals and never skip breakfast as it is the most important meal of the day.
