Free Solar Panels - Nothing Is Free

Thats right, nothing is ever free, Just like on the internet people offering free material are just trying to get your email so they can market to you. So first off you need to be ok with the fact that you will probably not find free solar panels unless you have some inside connection. Because solar technology is still developing the production cost of solar cells are very expensive. For example I had a price quote from a solar company and they told me that an entire system would cost me over ten thousand dollars. At that price it would have taken over 7 years to pay back my investment, and living in Oregon I weather didnt always cooperate.

If you are bent on getting free solar panels, you can contact scientific universities, I know there are a few here in the northwest that have extensive solar projects, and if they are upgrading or have defective units you might be able to get the solar panels for free. But the down side to this is that the panels are usually modified or damaged, because the universities are trying to get the most out of each solar panel, increasing its power output etc. Another place that you might look for free solar panels in the companies that are doing the installs in your local area. They might have some panels that they have no use for.

One last place you might look for these panels is eBay, though they might not be free you should be able to find them at a steep discount. Now remember that there are thousands of auctions on eBay every day, so make sure to check often and daily so that you dont miss the auction.

Now there are guides available on the internet which teach you how to make the solar panels for very cheap. The project which I did only cost a few hundred dollars and now after my entire project was done, the power company is now writing my checks every month. It did take some time and effort but the pay off has been worth it.

So remember that if you are looking for free solar panels, you can find them for free but with all that effort you are almost better off just buying cheap versions, or using the online guides to build your self solar panels.
