Can Weight Loss really be this Obvious?

There is no lack of websites out there claiming to be the only actual way to lose weight, whether through diets or miracle medications. Fat Loss 4 Idiots enters this cramped environment promoting two products: an online diet generator and a downloadable e-book, each costing around $20 after a 50% discount.
Fat Loss 4 Idiots works on a assumption it calls "calorie shifting". Simply put, this assumption states that low calorie diets will not work, as your body will simply slow down its metabolism so as to use less calories. Instead, Fat Loss 4 Idiots promotes the idea of eating meals in set patterns that rotate various types of calories in order to fool the body into burning off all the calories you eat.
So Does Calorie Shifting Perform?
Fat Loss 4 Idiots claims that its methodology will help you drop 9 pounds every 11 days. That should set off a red flag right there, since most medical experts don't advise losing more than 2 or 3 pounds a week.
There also appears to be a distinct lack of peer-reviewed scientific literature supporting the calorie shifting theory. The only mentions of it seem to be on health blogs, most of which dismiss it as a scam. Inevitably, the comments boxes on these blogs are then filled with boilerplate responses from persons claiming that calorie shifting works very well and which proceed to link back to鈥at Loss 4 Idiots! Can you say "huckster"? I bet you can.
Apparently, this type of aggressive approach works, since the e-book is one of the most downloaded e-books on the Internet. But all the available evidence suggests that, yes, it really is that easy. If you use up more calories than you absorb, you'll lose weight and if you don't, you'll gain weight. Anything more is just smoke and mirrors. Forget Fat Loss 4 Idiots and just cut out the high fructose corn syrup instead.
