All The Reasons Were Overweight

Many of us are overwhelmed with unhappy and stressful situations (sometimes ones that occurred in the past), and have allowed them to determine our health. Many of us try to solve our problems with food and unhealthy lifestyles, which can eventually ruin our health.

It's a terrible cycle! Some people don’t realize they're eating over a particular situation; it becomes a way of life.
Only when we allow our minds to be still and go within to see what’s best for us is when we will ask ourselves, “What am I weighting for”? Being overweight is seen as an inability to stop eating, loving food too much; having a sweet tooth and so many other reasons. But there are so many other, less-obvious reasons why we over-eat:
  • Lack of sleep
  • Involved in unhealthy relationships
  • Stressful situations (work, home, etc.)
  • Unhappy with your marriage/relationship
  • Poor eating habits
  • Boredom
  • Lack of exercise
  • Dehydration
Some of us aren’t aware that emotions can play a big part in how we eat and live our lives. For example, when you're sleep-deproved, you crave food or beverages that usually aren’t the best to give you a quick burst of energy. Dehydration can also cause us to feel hungry and to crave sugar.
It’s important to discover what exactly is eating at you, get in touch with your emotions, be aware of your feelings, keep an eye on your portions for guidance, break the not so favorable habits and uncover exactly who or what the culprit really is. As I journeyed on my road to wellness for many years, I came across many things that affected my health and lifestyle. The quick fix diets, diet fads, exercising beyond exhaustion and putting off things until my weight was under control. Only when I took control of my life and how I was living it is when I realized it’s not always about food.
I don’t count calories, carbohydrates, fats or create food lists that are restrictive. I created a happy, healthy life for myself that is fun, flexible and rewarding.  And that is also what you should create for yourselves.
Get ready to feed your soul.
