What is Stewardess Diet and Does it Really Work?

What is the Stewardess Diet?
Also known as the 4-day wonder diet, the flight attendant diet, Mayo clinic diet, or TWA stewardess diet, it is basically a fad diet that will help you lose weight in a short span of time. It involves no unique or expensive foods, and does work, given that you follow it perfectly without cheating. You eat a lot of protein, vegetables, and fruits like grapefruit and apple, which helps to cut down the fat. Drinking a lot of water is also very crucial to increase your metabolism.

Stewardess Diet Meal Plan
DAY 1
Breakfast: 1/2 grapefruit and black coffee

Lunch: Broiled steak, tomato and lettuce salad without any dressing, and 1 apple.

Dinner: 2 Hard-boiled eggs, green beans, and 1 grapefruit.

DAY 2
Breakfast: 1/2 grapefruit and black coffee

Lunch: 1 pork chop, lettuce salad, 6 oz. tomato juice

Dinner: Cauliflower, squash, green beans, and 6 oz. applesauce

DAY 3
Breakfast: 1/2 grapefruit and black coffee

Lunch: Celery, lettuce salad (no dressing), hamburger patty (broiled), and one small apple

Dinner: Broiled chicken, stewed tomatoes, and a glass of prune juice

DAY 4
Breakfast: 1/2 grapefruit and black coffee

Lunch: 2 scrambled eggs or hard-boiled, green beans, and 6 oz. pineapple juice

Dinner: Steak, lettuce & tomatoes (no dressing), and 6 oz. tomato juice

✦ As you can see, all the ingredients for the stewardess diet can be easily found. It is better to shop for all the four days diet needs beforehand. Going grocery shopping when dieting is a real bad idea, as you may get food cravings.

✦ The rules of the diet say that you are not supposed to substitute any food, or change the proportion. If you do substitute something, it will affect your weight loss. The reason the diet works is calorie restriction, so any deviation from the meal plan will mess up with your diet.

✦ You are not supposed to add sugar or any other sweetener to your coffee. Eating grapefruit daily is also essential. Do stick to the proportions.

✦ The most important rule is to not follow this diet for more than 4 days, and not do it more than once a month.

Does the stewardess diet work?
You can lose up to 10 pounds in just 4 days, if you strictly follow this diet. This diet is definitely very hard to stick to. Since, you are eating very few calories, there are chances you'll be very hungry. If you can control those hunger pangs, then you'll succeed in knocking off those extra kilos.

The diet requires you to be really sincere with what you eat. Even a little cheating here and there can entirely mess up with the results. There are chances that once you stop following this diet, you end up gaining back all the weight that you lost, so do engage in regular exercise and controlled eating afterward as well.
