i have ate solid foods after my surgery am i in trouble

Question
I had surgery July 12th was sent home the 14th I fallowed my liquid diet after surgery for three days and I started to get sick from the pre made protein shakes and the ones I made at home other people told me to go ahead and eat food like tuna cottage cheese and I ate about ten times since and now I'm worried I have stretched out my tummy and that I have hurt myself. I don't have any pain but I am always hungry till I eat once or twice a day.. why can't u eat right after surgery?

Answer
The danger here is not that you'll stretch out your tummy.  This soon after your surgery, if you fail to follow your doctor's orders to eat a liquid diet, and decided to eat solid food (as you have done), there is a chance that you could BURST your stomach sutures, spill digesting food out of your stomach, go into septic shock and die.

I suggest that you contact your doctor, explain EXACTLY what you have done and ask for directions on what you should do next.  ONLY YOUR DOCTOR, not "other people", can give you directions on what you should do next.  Other people will not have to suffer like you will if you follow their directions.  Other people will not die from septic shock if you do not follow your Doctor's orders exactly.

You are in danger of doing permanent damage to yourself that can lead to death.

Please contact your doctor right away.
