beef kidney, raw

Question
QUESTION: I have recently began eating raw beef liver and am thrilled with the health results. I now want to see what raw beef kidney will do for me but am unsure of how to go about it.

Can you share with me step by step how other go about it?

Thanks,
Betty

ANSWER: Well, all I do is cut the raw kidneys up into bite-sized chunks and bolt them down. If you're worried re the taste, I would suggest adding some raw spices to it such as raw garlic etc. Others who want to take things slower tend to cook the meats first and then gradually lower the cooking temperature until they can handle the taste of the raw meat at room-temperature.

Oh, when I was a rawpalaeo newbie, I didn't much like the hard white tissue in the middle of the kidney, so I would usually cut around it. Noawadays, I'm not bothered by its taste as I've grown used to raw animal food in general, so I don't bother cutting it out any more.

QUESTION: Do you bother with first freezing it for 14 days in case of parasites?

Do you do anything to remove impurities from the organ such as marinating it?

ANSWER: No,I never bother freezing meats for 14 days re parasite issue. No point, haven't had any parasite-related symptoms since I started going rawpalaeo and I've been doing this for years.

As far as removing impurities, there are none. I mean if you're getting raw kidney from a 100% grassfed/organic or wild source, there's no need to marinate it. More to the point, near the start of my diet, my digestive system had become ruined from years of eating cooked animal foods, so that marinating just made my digestion worse, whereas raw meat on its own was fine if it wasn't ground.

QUESTION: Thank you very much, I've phoned my butcher and he's picking up beef kidney for me today. His beef is grassfed.

My digestive system, and organ systems, became very debilitated. Removing grains/flour provided a good deal of relief, but still have a long ways to go. I discovered that the less cooked my steak was, the better I felt so this lead me to try raw meat. As I understand it, the organ meats are a good source of quality fats and are more nourishing than the muscle meats.

Did you find that raw meat, and time to heal, was all that you needed to restore your digestion?

Answer
No, at first my digestion was so bad I couldn't even handle raw ground meat(ground meat seems to be a problem with RPD newbies whose digestive system has been particularly wrecked). I had to go in for slightly aging my raw meats to make them softer as my teeth had been nearly ruined by decades on a SAD diet and I couldn't otherwise chew some raw meats. I went in hevaily for raw organ-meats like raw tongue, raw marrow etc. which speeded up my health. I also had to eat some raw plant food, mostly in the form of fruit, as raw zero-carb was not healthy for my own body. And of course 100% removal of all raw dairy helped considerably in improving my own health.

*1 thing:- In future, please only post 1 follow-up. If you want to ask more questions, just ask em a separate question. It just makes it easier for me to read through and deal with it. Thanks.
