Obesity problem

Question
QUESTION:   Hy, I am an obese person, age 55 and with diabetes. I am 1.60 m tall and 90 kg in weight. I would like to loose some weight but I have to eat the right amount of carbohydrates each day and it's kind of hard trying to lose weight and keep my carbohydrates at the right figure. Can you give me some advice as to my nutrition and life habit?
        Thank you!
ANSWER: Hey, Ovidiu. Thanks for your question. First, carbs are not an obstacle to losing weight.

Before I can answer your question, I need to know a few more details about you?

What exactly do you eat during the day, how much and how often?

When is your last meal in the evening?

Do you exercise? If so, how exactly, how often and for how long?

Please let me know, and I will follow up.

Thanks,

QUESTION: Hello!
Thanks for the answer. Here are some answers to your question: i don't have anything in particular that i eat each day, I try to stay off the white bread and meat and fats. I try to eat mostly chicken, vegetable soups. Each of my meals is weighted so I now exactly how much carbs i get into my system at each meal. I am required to eat 5 meals a day. My last meal in the evening is at about 8-9 p.m.. I don't regularly exercise but I do gardening almost every day.
Thank you!

Answer
Hi, Ovidiu. I am glad to hear that you are already doing quite a few things right. However, EXERCISE IS ESSENTIAL to your weight loss. Diet alone is not enough! To jump start your metabolism, intense aerobic cardio must become part of your life. Until such time, your weight loss will be very slow and inconsistent. Gardening is good, but it's not a cardio intense activity. Interval running, weghted scquats and fast walking uphill are some of the best exercises that elevate your heart rate to its maximum capacity, and engaging in those exercises daily for 20 min - 30 min per day will make a huge difference!

Thanks, and feel free to follow up.
