Answer
Hi Linda,

You can increase your metabolism by:
1. Drinking 2-5 cups of plain green tea every day (preferably warm).
2. Eat food that are rich in fiber and resistant starch such as brown Basmati rice and whole wheat pasta (however skip the creamy sauce, tomato sauce is okay or prepare it the Asian way: stir fry or noodle soup). If you don't like brown rice, try white Basmati rice.
3. Do weight training exercise to increase your muscle mass. If you prefer walking, try to get ankle and wrist weights and use them when you walk the dog.

And to lower your calorie intake:
1. Start your meal with a vegetable soup in clear broth. This is the link to my cooking video, Chicken & Vegetables soup, very filing and yet low in calories. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDS7Paie5KQ&feature=channel_page
2. Cut down on caloric drinks. Most drinks contain 200 calories/glass (that's equal to 8 Hershey kisses).

Best wishes,
