Question
Can you recommend a place I can send my 19 year old daughter? She needs an immersion environment, personal attention and support. She is 5'5', 90 pounds (up from 86, but not increasing), bad IBS/reflux among other things. She is on GAPS diet for 4 months, and receptive to raw carnivorous, but not without a lot of personal attention; she will wind up going to a raw food clinic with her dad, and letting a pretty 21 y/o boy put her on Dr Sebi's protocol, b/c she feels so isolated. Her blood is too alkaline already. I'm trying to figure out proper support for her.

Answer
I've never heard of Dr Sebi before, but it seems he's a raw-vegan-type of raw foodist, judging from some links detailing his recommended foods. 100% Raw Vegan diets are fine for simple detox of toxins derived from past cooked-food-consumption, but absolutely hopeless for the purpose of rebuilding/repairing the body.

The only  raw animal foodist retreat I know a lot of is based in the USA in Hawaii called Pangaia. They do the Primal Diet, which, IMO, is not as healthy a raw diet as one would think as it also incorporates a lot of raw dairy and raw veggie-juice and overly lean raw muscle-meats - many people who've done the Primal Diet have developed serious long-term issues with raw dairy and raw veggie-juice, and raw dairy would be a real problem for an IBS sufferer. That said, as long as you avoid the raw dairy and veggie-juices on offer, you should  be fine(I gather they allow you to choose your own food, more or less, so it shouldn't be a problem to go rawpalaeo there instead of Primal).

*Correction*:- Their new website mentions that they are a mainly vegan, raw community. There
seems to have been a change in management with Raw Vegans in charge. I've been assured by another website that they still cater for raw animal foodists so there's no pro-vegan dogma apparently. It's best if you contact them and find out what they can offer raw animal foodists. I've heard that in the past they offered a lot of raw wild game meat to their Primal Diet customers.

Oh, and there's also Kieba's "Body Temple Boot Camp, also based in Hawaii, which definitely caters for Primal Dieters, and you can contact her on this website(she happens to be a member of my rawpaleodiet yahoo group, incidentally):-

http://www.bodytemplebootcamp.com/index.html

- again just leave out the raw dairy and the raw veggie juice and go in for fatty meats(oh and some raw organ-meats, as the Primal Diet often ignores that aspect of the diet; raw organ-meats have much higher nutrient-levels than raw muscle-meats so a part of the diet should consist of any of the following if you can get them(eg:- raw brains/tongues/livers/kidneys/hearts/sweetbreads/suet/marrow etc.)

Re your mention of raw carnivorous:- I presume you mean that she has a food-intolerance to all carbs, even raw carbs? If that's the case, then 100% raw carnivorous is the way to go. I should warn you, however, that a number of people, including myself, have not been able to carry on with a 100% raw, carnivorous diet for more than a few weeks at most for various reasons, and have had to include a few raw carbs as well into our diets in order to remain healthy. That's not to say it doesn't work, it does seem to work for some people, I just wish to add a note of caution, in this regard.

If for any reason, you are unable to go all the way to Hawaii(for example, if you live in a totally different country halfway across the globe and prefer a more local retreat, just ask me a follow-up question telling me where exactly you live, and I'll do my best to find contact-details and ask my fellow raw-animal-foodists where the nearest raw animal food diet retreats are. I've vaguely heard of a few such RVAF diet retreats in Europe and I know there's a raw-animal-foodist community in Australia which might have a retreat etc.

Other than that, I would STRONGLY recommend that you and your daughter read the posts on rawpaleoforum and the rawpaleodiet yahoo group(especially this link:-

That way, you'll have some vital background info that you will need before going on such a dietary retreat/cure.

HTH,
