Low GI foods for IBS sufferer

Question
I was recently diagnosed with IBS and have since been modifying my diet to include more soluble fiber.  However, this often includes various breads, potatoes, whole cereal, corn based products, carrots, etc.  These things are not good for weight loss or for someone wishing to stay on a low glycemic diet.  What can I do?  What foods do you recommend for low glycemic/IBS diet? Thank you for your help!

Answer
Rachel,

For an IBS diet, good sources of soluble fiber include oatmeal and oat bran, psyllium seed, pectin, and guar gum.

Oat bran bread has GI=68 and oatmeal (not instant!) is low in GI: 40.

Hope it helps,
