A fruit diet contains less calories which results to a deeper detoxification. And unlike water or fruit fasting, it does not cause the digestive system to shut down. Meaning, in contrast to fasting, there will be no drop in the metabolic processes of the body. This is because the body is not being forced into a low metabolism state in order to conserve its energy.

Most people go on a fruity diet for only about a day. But it will better if you go for a week-long fruit diet. This is because for the first three to four days of having fruit diet, the body is only detoxifying its system. It body does not basically lose fat during those times. After four days, that will be the time wherein the body could easily burn fats through thorough cleansing. A wonderful feeling of health and well-being awaits those people who were able to endure a frequent week- long fruit diet.
