Food Allergies and Successful Weight Loss

Dieting is not about following a fad diet for a few months, getting rid of a few pounds, and returning to your normal eating mode (which is nothing but gorging on more junk and fatty foods). Rather, dieting is about healthy eating, and if you want to gain the maximum mileage possible from your diet, you need to make it an essential part of your life just as you have done with those junk foods.

Of course there is a big difference between theory and practice. If you have been eating only junk foods all your life, it would be difficult if not impossible for you change your food habits for the better. However, I have a few tricks up in my sleeve which would help you with that.

Get rid of allergic foods: For the purpose of successful loss, you should not only get rid of junk foods but also those foods which make you allergic. Crabs are a good example; many people are allergic to crabs even though they have been touted by several experts as an ideal food for loss.

Then there is milk: while it is extremely nutritious, some people are lactose intolerant and cannot digest it. If you are one of them then you need to avoid milk too. A third example is wheat. Believe it or not, there are some folks who cannot stand the sight of any wheat-based food, much less eat it. You would easily recognize those folks in restaurants explicitly forbidding the waiter from offering breads, pastas, sandwiches, croutons, etc. to them.

There is nothing strange about being allergic to certain kinds of foods; after all, our body is uniquely built and as such, has unique needs of its own. Once you become aware of the foods you are allergic to, you simply need to replace them with appropriate alternatives.

Consume enough carbohydrates

Carbohydrates are a must for the proper and healthy functioning of your body; any diet program which severely restricts your carb intake should be avoided at all costs. You cannot sustain a diet for long enough if your carb intake is severely restricted right from day one.

If your body doesn’t get enough carbs on a regular basis, you would soon start suffering from fatigue, dehydration, nausea, low blood sugar, excessive hunger, etc.

Now the bigger question is, which carbs are best for you? You should consume only those foods which contain complex carbs. Most natural fruits and vegetables are made that way. Avoid sugar and sugary foods as they would make you fat and ugly.
