Weight Loss Tip #54: Replace creamy salad dressing with olive oil or vinegar

Weight loss comes down to more than just eating your veggies. Sure salad has nutritious vegetables that help you stay healthy and keep your diet on the right track, but if you are not careful about what dressing you put on the salad, you are undermining your diet. A lot of people do not like the bland taste of vegetables so they add dressing to their salads. While you are on a weight loss plan some of your favourite salad dressings like mayonnaise and cream may not fit into your current eating plan. These ingredients are high in fat content that greatly increase the calorie count and negate the healthy aspects of a salad.

It is a good idea to replace mayonnaise-based condiments with fat-free alternatives like fat-free yoghurt, mustard and ketchup. Something with olive oil, vinegar and some spices can also be better options to keep weight loss in check. Olive oil is a great oil for salad dressings as it is high in monosaturated fats and low in polyunsaturated fats. Vinegar works by suppressing the appetite. It also  contains organic acid and enzymes which speed up the metabolism rate burning fat. But do not add too much of these too.
