Lose Fat - Simple Tips To Lose Weight

What is more important...to lose body fat, nutrition or exercise training? I am sure you have asked this very question and it seems hard to get a direct answer. It seems it should be simple, but everyone seems to have a different option. Let us take a realistic look at this subject and discover how to lose body fat the easiest way.

Most experts will agree on one thing, you can work out or exercise all you want, but if you do not have good nutrition habits then it will not matter. You will not lose body fat. You may be asking, "What should I eat and should I have bars, shakes and prepackaged meals?" You probably know by now that high sugar meals whether it is bars, shakes or food should not be consumed if you want to lose fat. Here are some tips to help you lose the fat.

- Do not eat right before going to bed

Sugar can be your worst enemy in your fat loss efforts especially if eaten just before bedtime. Not only can it be stored as fat if not used as energy, it can also interrupt sleep patterns if consumed just before bedtime. According to nutritional guides, eating proteins and fat just before bedtime can actually slow down digestion of nutrients.

- Proteins and fats

Protein is good for building muscle, but too much protein can pack on the pounds as fat instead of lean muscle mass. According to most of the nutritional information available, you should only consume one gram of protein per pound of body weight. Combine this with the proper amount of fat intake and your fat loss efforts can be greatly improved. This should provide the right amount of minerals and nutrients to improve lean muscle mass and fat loss.

You should cut unneeded calories by cutting the intake of carbohydrates and focusing on consuming lean proteins, a moderate amount of fat and eating plenty of fiber containing foods. There are diets based on "calorie cycling" in which you cut calories drastically for a few days and then increase the calorie intake afterwards. This may sound good in theory but in reality it may not work very well, if at all.

- Balance

It is best to eat a balanced diet based on limited carbohydrates, lean protein and healthy fats. It is not a good idea to cut out any one food group completely or to eat high amounts of one either. These no carb, high fat or all protein diets have been proven to slow metabolism and cause you to gain the weight back, often even more than you lost, within one to two years.

It is best to eat several portions of fruits and vegetables per day limiting high sugar containing fruits such as melons, cantaloupes, figs or dates. Eating vegetables containing a lot of fiber such broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, or celery can help with digestion and fat loss.
