In this article I will give some important information on weight loss that many studies have shown to work. The most successful people and I believe the largest weight loss program uses this method.

The more you know about something the better you will do at it. Information and knowledge is something we all seek when it comes to something we want to purchase or to accomplish. You want to know the best product for the best results, at the best price and something that will last a long time. Or you want to learn the best way of doing something for the best results. At the same time you want to accomplish it fast and want to learn to be good at it. You want all the information you can get. Isn't the internet great for that reason? I love that I can find any information I am looking for. We are so lucky to have this kind of information easily available. It is just we have to analyze the information and weed out what we believe and who we trust. Determine the good information from the bad.

Sometimes it is hard to trust the government, or any department run by them. I do happen to trust the USDA findings though. That is because their information is backed up by so many scientific studies and University studies I don't think that all of them could be wrong or misleading us. So I believe that 3500 calories equals 1 pound of weight. That is accurate information, it is a fact. I also believe that the body needs all the different nutrients, carbohydrates, proteins, fats, and vitamins. I have seen too many studies with facts to back them up, so I believe this also is a fact.

I just ran across another article that had studies to back it up. I believe the studies and the information because I have used this technique most of my life to achieve things. I know it works and all successful people use it to achieve their goals. I know it works and I used it when I first started my weight loss, but after a while I stopped doing it. I am still losing 1 - 3 pounds a week, but maybe I can do a little better if I went back to using it.

If you do some exercise then you need even more calorie intake. If you do a whole lot of exercise and are very active then you need to increase your intake even more. Your body needs the nutrients to perform. That is another fact that has been proven by many studies.

Other facts that are backed by many studies are that your body's metabolism burns calories. The higher or better your body's metabolism is, the more calories it will burn. Also the more muscle you have the more calories your body will burn. So if your BMR along with your activity level says you need to take in 3000 calories a day to feed your body and perform well, you can get away with just consuming 2500 calories and do that for a week and you lose a pound, because 500 x 7 = 3500. Then if you can gain some muscle and do just a little more exercise, even more can be lost as long as you keep your metabolism running at a high speed. The things that can be done to keep your metabolism up is don't let yourself get too hungry. That is your body telling you that you need more fuel. Snack frequently on healthy low calorie snacks. You also can and should raise your metabolism by doing a detox. Get rid of the toxins in your body (yes you have toxins in your body, trust me) and your metabolism and health will greatly improve. That is another fact that you can and should do research on.

Now this will turbo charge the weight loss. Researchers at Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research followed more than 2,000 dieters who were asked to record meals and snacks. They found that the single best predictor of whether a participant would drop weight was whether the person kept a food diary. This makes so much sense. If you write down every calorie you consume during the day, you will really teach yourself to eat right. Logging things down and tracking progress is what all successful people do. You will pick and choose your meals and snacks more carefully. If you order a Starbucks Grande Dulce de Leche Latte, every day you will see that your beloved drink has 440 calories and the same-size regular coffee with milk only has 23 calories. By writing that down you will experience a reality check. Don't guess on the calorie count either. When an NYU researcher asked 200 dietitians to estimate the calorie count of four popular restaurant dishes, the experts low balled the number for each by a whopping 250 to 700 calories. So if dietitians can't get it right, well.Restaurants are supposed to have that information if you eat out.

You will find it amazing how just cutting one thing off of your daily intake can make a huge difference. One of the things I quit was drinking carbonated drinks. As soon as I quit those I went from gaining a couple of pounds a week to losing 2 to 3 pounds a week. If you see on paper where your calories are coming from it is easy to make adjustments. You need to write down everything as you eat it too. It is easy to forget the little snacks you consume during the day, like mints or lifesavers. Those little things add up quickly. You will see that. You will be less likely to eat those once you see how many calories they do add up to.
