Low calorie diet weight loss - Are you still using out-dated low calorie diet plans?

The reason why a lot of people fail to lose weight and rather stay the way they are, instead of losing weight, is because they are sick of dieting. No matter what diet you are using or what hype some new diets get, they all fail. Staying on a diet is almost impossible, so really what is the point in using low-calorie diets, if they don't work?

Low calorie diet weight loss

The reason why dieting is such a torture, is because it is not natural for the body. Low-calorie diets means your body has to conserve energy in order to survive. When calories are too low your body will automatically start saving energy. This means your body will not let go of fat, the lower your calories are the harder it gets to lose fat because fat storing hormones and chemicals don´t allow that. Since muscle is a metabolically active tissue, then getting rid of muscle, when calories are low, is the first thing that happens. The less muscle tissue you have the slower your metabolic rate gets and the less calories you burn. So that is why using low-calorie diets to lose weight is impossible.

The only way to lose weight permanently without suffering with diets, is to take another direction. Increasing the rate at which your body burns calories, known as your metabolism, is the key to permanent weight loss. You can do that by not reducing your calories below the level at which the starvation response kicks in. That is around 1800 calories for women and 2100 for men.

Then you can also increase your metabolic rate by doing strength training exercises. This is an excellent way to burn more calories. That way you can also build and maintain your muscle tissue, so you burn more calories. Even one pound of muscle added, means an extra 50 calories that are burned a day. So rather than working against your body with low-calorie diets, work with your body. even if you eat 4000-4500 calories then you can still lose fat, if you burn 5000 calories a day. You don´t have to reduce your calories to starvation levels.
