Weight Loss Boot Camp - 10 Steps To Lose Weight Now

A weight loss boot camp, not unlike the one featured on the TV series "The Biggest Loser", is a sure-fire way to lose weight. Obviously if you can afford to leave your job, your school, and your family for a couple of months, and spend it in lockdown where you do nothing but diet and exercise, you will most surely lose weight. But most of us don't have that luxury now, do we? The next best thing is to follow a do-it-yourself weight loss camp regimen. That is very simple to do:

  1. Cultivate a mental attitude of success with a series of positive affirmations every morning when you wake up, telling you that you will lose weight, you will not deviate from your diet today, you will be successful, you will look beautiful, and so forth.
  2. Choose a diet plan that you would feel comfortable following for the next several weeks or months. There are so many to choose from that promise rapid, significant weight loss.
  3. Prepare yourself and your environment. Purge your refrigerator and your pantry of all of the wrong foods. Go grocery shopping and stock up on all of the right foods, that are appropriate for the diet plan that you will be following.
  4. Have a plan for each day: If you are going to be out all day, make sure you know ahead of time what you are going to eat. When you are undergoing a weight loss boot camp, you really do not have room for impromptu, spontaneous mealtime decisions, because these leave room for diet sabotage due to temptation, lack of availability of the right foods, and hunger. So pack a lunch from home, or make sure you know where the nearest restaurant is that carries the type of foods that you can eat on your diet. Bring money with you!
  5. Have an idiot-proof emergency food-supply to quell your hunger: Bottled water, bottled zero-calorie lemonade or flavored water such as Crystal Light, sugar-free chewing gum, or some ready-to-eat snacks that are compatible with your diet plan. If you are on a low-carb diet plan, then beef jerkey or cheese cubes will do. If you are on a low-calorie diet plan, then an apple or some grapes or strawberries might do.
  6. Drink tons and tons of water, at least one gallon minimum per day. If you're not going to the bathroom frequently and you're not urinating water, then you're not drinking enough water.
  7. Get adequate sleep. Yes, on your weight loss boot camp, sleeping adequately is just as important as the activities that you do throughout the waking hours.
  8. Absolutely DO exercise. If you are on a weight loss boot camp program, then your goal obviously is to lose as much weight as rapidly as possible, and keep it off. If that is the case, then you absolutely must exercise as well, for exercise burns fat calories, conditions your muscles, and boosts your metabolism. Spend a minimum of thirty minutes (one hour is even better) of exercise each day, at least 4 times a week (to give your body rest on the other 3 days to recover from any soreness you might incur and to give your muscles a chance to regenerate and grow). This should be in the form of a combination of cardiovascular exercise as well as strength-training. Cardiovascular exercise can consist of jogging, riding your bicycle, treadmill, an exercise bike, jumping rope, jumping jacks, swimming, or climbing up and down flights of stairs, or using a stair master, just to name a few. Weight training exercises can be the machine weights or it can be simple at-home exercises such as push-ups, sit-ups, squats, and lifting hand-weights, or using resistance bands.
  9. Do not eat within 3 hours of going to sleep. You do not want your body to be digesting food when it should be resting, otherwise the food in your stomach will be stored as fat.
  10. Track your progress. Keep a food journal. Keep an exercise journal. It is important to maintain discipline when following your weight loss boot camp, and to hold yourself to task and remain accountable for achieving positive results.

Are you ready for your own personal weight loss boot camp? Are you ready to apply these tips and try a fat burning diet plan that is idiot-proof and less prone to sabotage?
