medicaid and gastric bypass

ok im 30 and a mother of 4 i weight 266 lbs and am 5ft 2in i am fat!! my dr gave me a referal for gastric bypass and yes im on medicaid but my prob is since katrina no one wants to do the surgery well accept the medicaid i need help i have bursitus in my knees i have hearniated discs in my back im falling to peices and every where i turn i get no answers the louisiana medicaid people in baton rouge have no answers for me as well and ive tried to get it financed by due to my  husband being disabled and weve been waiting on them for over 2 years the cash flow is bleak and i need a co signer and noone that i would even ask to do it.

I feel your pain. You need to be proactive in your search for a surgeon. If you have the approval from Medicaid, then you should be on the phone talking to every surgeon in your state ?then go to the next state and so on. I know that this is not easy and when we are desperate we just want it to happen right away. But you need to take action now so you will be healthy to take care of your children and your husband. Don't you deserve to be healthy? Now take that conviction and call those surgeons.
