Answer
Thank you for contacting me Jo. I hope that I can assist you with your question.

The only way to gain weight is to consume more calories than you burn.  This might sound like an easy thing to do, but in fact, it is not.  Most good, healthy food is low in calorie and most "bad" food, which is processed or contains unhealthy ingredients is high in calories.  You don't want to make the  mistake of eating bad food just to gain a few pounds.

I know that there are many different native foods in your country that you might be able to consume to help you gain some weight. I apologize that I am not familiar with anything except that which is available in the United States. You may have to do some research to determine which of your native foods are rich in nutrients *and* calories.

In the United States I would recommend that you increase your diet to include avocados, plenty of raw nuts and fruits.  All of which are high in calories and nutrients.  Although, I would not rely solely on fruits because they do have a high sugar content, even though that sugar is natural, you do not want to over-do it.  Fruit juices are another way of increasing calorie intake, but please make certain they are 100 percent pure and do not contain any other ingredients besides the juice.  I'm sure that since where you live is a warm climate, there are many wonderful fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, seeds and other whole, unprocessed foods that you can consume to increase your calorie level.

You can also check on the internet to find recipes using these products in a healthy way.  You can also consume an extra meal per day which should boost your calorie intake considerably.
