Homecoming

Question
Hi! Basketball homecoming is in December I think. I'm not overweight. I'm about 130 lbs, female, 15. When I put on the dress I got for BB Homecoming it is sooo hard to zip up around my rib cage, I have some fat there. Also the dress makes the fat on my stomach really stand-outish, too. Do you have any tips to get rid of a few pounds of rib/stomach fat? Thanks.

Answer
Jenn, you might still be growing and maturing, so you may never fit into the dress. You can't shrink a ribcage. You can try to lose 5 pounds and see if that loosens the dress up. Try limiting your calories and cut out snacks. Try to eat 1500-1800 calories per day and walk or jog everyday for at 30 minutes. You should be able to drop 5 pounds in two weeks doing this. If you do lose 5 pounds and the dress still doesn't fit right, take it to a taylor or dressmaker and have it taken out a bit. You can't just spot reduce fat, your body removes it or burns it from your whole body, so places that seem to have more fat, will take longer to lose. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
