QUESTION: hey there , just wanted to let you know i went to see the nurse practitioner yesterday after reading your email to see if she could check my b12 levels , and she is also checking my thyroid again and doing a cbc and vit d....so i will let you know how i make out if youd like.

she said if they come back ok they will eventually send me to a neurologist....that will take a good month.

she said fatigue could be from hormones but not likely , i disagree , at this point anythng is possible but she felt no need to check my levels at this time.

QUESTION: ps....she said i could be low on vit D but i told her i already take vit D3 , she said its not the same.....what did she mean?
i will find out anyways, but figured you may know... im looking for a multi vit today so knowing would help.

ANSWER: There are 2 major forms of D- vitamin D2 (or ergocalciferol) and vitamin D3 (or cholecalciferol).
D3 is supposed to be more effective- but not essentially different so I don't know why your doc would say do- but maybe look for a D3 supplement instead.

If it isn't a deficiency you should look into neurological testing.

QUESTION: i also told my doc that a few days ago i started getting nautious.......i have no appetite either....

oh i take a cal mag every other day and it has D3 in it so when i showed her the bottle she said no it was a diff D ....so that s why i asked ya...

I found a pre natal vit , even though im not pregnant, because it has high potency , its in hard tablet form and i want to know if i can break it in half to take one half ea day cause the iron content is 30mg and i believe im only suppose to have 15MG daily.....so would that be ok ? or would i not be getting an even amt of ea vit? oh and it has the D2 instead of D3 ....which i thought was good.

i hope you dont mind all the questions but as you can imagine im not feeling well and very worried.....i hope i get some answers soon...so i can give my body what it needs ....ps i read lack of iron too can cause muscle tingling that i have, muscle issues , and lack of stamina.

its so hard not knowing. i should hear something by tomarrow i hope...

I think your going to have to talk to your doc on this one- But make sure you press her- ask questions- What does she mean by vitamin D if she isn't talking about D3 or D2? Where are your iron levels now? if you aren't proactive you probably won't get the answers you are looking for- so go after them!
