Protein Drink

Question
Is the protein supplement "Pro-NOS" safe for a kid around age 14 or 15?

Answer
It doesn't appear harmful for any reason. Although foods are not highly regulated by the FDA so it's impossible for me to tell exactly what's in it beyond what's revealed by the manufacturer. Still, it seems to just be Whey protein so not really anything different. I know they make all kinds of claims about the 'fractionated' technology - but I think that's mostly hype. Maybe, maybe not.

The important thing about protein is to get it from a variety of sources. So if you want to use a little Pro-NOS, it's probably fine but don't make it your sole source of protein intake. Still eat real food and don't overdo the supplements.

Hope this helps.
