Atkins diet and calorie intake

Question
I just wanted to make sure I was eating enough calories on induction and didn't go into starvation mode.  Male, weight 215, age 48.

Daily:
6 roasted skinless chicken thighs
4 Celery stalks
5 oz. Cream cheese

I'm losing weight and in ketosis, feeling good. If I eat more the weight loss seems to plateau.
Thanks!

Answer
Dear Mark,

The beauty of Atkins and many other low-carbohydrate diets is in their 'automatic' appetite control. This mean that you can completely rely on your hunger/satiety feelings to regulate your portions. Keep it in your mind that you can allow yourself to have up to 300 _more_ Cal. a day and still lose weight.

Also, the state of ketosis does not depend on calorie intake but on the proper macro nutrient combination: carb+protein grams should be roughly two times less that fat grams in your every meal.
