Question
Good Greetings.
I love tomatoes in my food and also for its lycopene content. However I have a rather weak stomach and very easily get gastric stomach due to the acid content of the tomatoes. Is there any way out of this? If there is ,It will make me a very happy guy. Also could you please advise me on other antioxidant foods that are non acidic

God bless you
roy

Answer
Roy,
Have you tried using sun-dried tomatoes or tomato paste? Both are lower in acid than fresh tomatoes.
Other antioxidants that you might include in your diet are Vitamin A, carotenoids, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C.
Vitamin A is found in liver, egg yolks, and fish oils.
Carotenoids are found in green leafy vegetables like spinach, and all yellow and red vegetables.
Vitamin E is found in seeds (like sunflower seeds) and fish.
Vitamin C is found in citrus fruits and many vegetables, and is also added to many other foods.
Make sure you get the full daily allowance of each of these, and you'll be getting plenty of antioxidant power. Be careful not to eat TOO much of any, though. Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E can all be toxic if you eat more than five times the recommended daily allowance. That may seem like a lot, but when foods have Vitamin C added, they usually contain a full day's supply, as do most multivitamins-so it's easy to take in 2-3 times your daily allowance of Vitamin C.
Good luck to you, and remember to exercise!
