In the last few weeks, I realized that my waistline has steadily been increasing and the realization completely set in after my family members pointed how my once flat belly was now turning into a paunch. I am fairly active physically as I make it a point to take 15 minutes long walks in between work and I also go for a run at least twice a week. So I was quite surprised to notice how fast I gained weight on all the wrong places despite exercising.

That is when it struck me that in the last one month, I had most of my meals and snacks alone. If I wasn’t in office, I would eat in front of my laptop while watching Netflix or completing a story. The reason why I had put on weight was that when you’re eating alone, you don’t realize that the quantity of food you’re consuming increases. These are the 10 food habits you should change for your health’s sake.

Another fact is that, when you eat alone, you prefer to just order some Chinese or pizza instead of making the effort the cook a meal. Looking back in the last few weeks, I realized that I was mostly ordering food due to my erratic timings. Other than that, while watching TV or something on your phone or laptop, you don’t realize how much food you’re consuming and when your hunger is satisfied because you’re too busy concentrating on the screen.

Also, when you’re eating alone and have no one to share your food with, you end up eating more than you want to just because you don’t want any food to go to waste. If you’re struggling to gain weight, try to avoid eating alone as far as possible. If you have a habit of eating at your desk, stop doing that and instead join your colleagues in the canteen or someplace other than your desk. Take this quiz to find out if your eating habits are right.

Even while you’re having snacks, open your treats while you’re around others because you will end up sharing some of those calories with others which will make it easier for you to consume less. These are the 8 Indian diet habits that are bad for your health.
