Are there specific exercises to lose weight quickly?

Some may be more beneficial than others. But, what are your long-term goals? They should be to build lean muscle and reduce body fat, without spending your life in a gym.

You need to know that all of those guys and gals on the infomercials make their living by displaying their bodies. Most of us don't have the time or the inclination to do that. We make our living in other ways.

The second step is to stop focusing on the scales. Daily changes that you see on the scales are due to changes in fluid retention. Women tend to retain more fluid than men, particularly at certain times of the month.

These pounds of water may be frustrating, as they sometimes affect the way that your clothes fit. The best way to lose excessive fluid is to drink more purified water and reduce your salt intake.

Men and women over the age of 18 should take in no more than 2300mg of sodium per day. An acceptable intake is 1500mg, until you reach the age of 50; 1300mg after the age of 50 and 1200mg after the age of 70.

You don't have to work out in a gym to start doing some resistance exercises to lose weight quickly using only your own body weight and resistance bands. If you do use a gym, you are likely to see people pushing sports drinks to replenish lost fluids, sodium and other electrolytes.

If you were a professional athlete, you might have to worry about that. But, generally speaking, sports drinks are unnecessary.

You should drink lots of purified water and as you increase your level of physical activity, you should drink more.

Drinking more water also helps to flush toxins from the bodily organs, including the liver, which is responsible for converting stored fat into energy. If it is clogged with toxins, it cannot perform efficiently.

In addition to drinking more water, eating less salt and doing exercises to lose weight quickly, you might want to consider a herbal detoxification supplement.

They are relatively inexpensive and if you have been eating a lot of processed foods, then many of your organs are likely clogged with the environmental toxins that fast, packaged and processed foods contain.

Although there are many other steps that you should consider, I have one final bit of advice for this article. Simplify.
