QuestionHello, I live in Bulgaria as you may or may have not picked from my name. As a rule almost, stereotypical "lean meats" are pretty much rarity in here. So I was wondering if I cut and trim out all the fats from the pork/bacon/beef, would that make them "lean meat"?
Thank you for your time and effort answering my questions. Wish you luck in fit, happy life!
AnswerNot really. Lean means like chicken and fish have fewer calories per ounce in their flesh. You should ALWAYS trim the visible fat from any meat you eat, but it doesn't change the nutritional value of the meat itself. But don't worry... just watch your overall calorie intake and you'll be fine. I eat lots of pork and beef. I just try and stay away from GROUND beef because that has all the fat ground up and mixed in. There's nothing wrong with a steak.
