Why is it that i dont seem to lose weight

Question
Hi there,
Just wondering if you could answer something for me.
I am a 28 year old female, i work out in the gym for 1 1/2 hours 4 times a week, and have been for the last year and a half. I eat really healthy and everyone comments that i lost alot of weight and my clothes also fit a lot better and i feel alot more toned, however when i weigh myself i am weighing at the exact same weight that i did when i first joined the gym (11 stone) i am only 5ft 4 inchs. I have dropped a dress size but when i weigh myself and see that i am exactly the same weight i feel a bit let down and wonder am i just wasting my time. I know i have built some muscle and my legs are alot more toned so could this be the reason why i weigh the same. I just dont understand it.
Thanks Leslie

Answer
You just answered your own question. You probably built muscle up to counter the fat you burned.

Look?the number on the scale isn't what's important. It's how you LOOK and FEEL that makes the difference.

For a man, waist size (that all-important number in your jeans) is a BETTER indication of overall health than just weight. For women, I'm sure bust and hips are just as good of an indicator.

If you're lifting weights (as I strongly recommend for EVERY workout program) then yes, you'll build muscle and burn fat. The scale might not move much, but that's a BIGGGGG improvement for your overall health!
