Question
I am a 42 year old female.  In the past 2 years I have gained 20lbs.  I have tried several eating plans.   I am just getting active again about a 4 month layoff.  So may activity level is ssedentary at the moment.  I am confused about how many calories to eat a day,the amount of fat and protein.  I am a former marathoner and cyclist which I am trying to get back into,  My last attempt at dieting was last week. I worked out everyday, ate 1000 calories a day, and lost no weight.  I currently weigh 160, and I am 5'2.  Please help,,I am a type 1 diabetic but am trying to not to go to the bariatric dr...  I want to do this the right way!!

Answer
1000 calories a day isn't much. Your body will hold on to fat if you aren't getting enough food.
