Question
I am 16 yrs old 5'5" and 240lbs. Why can't I lose any weight? I have been on a diet lately and I absolutly cannot lose anymore weight. My friends tell me I am fine the way I am. But I feel like I am a nobody because of my weight. Can you help me lose weight. I do tai bo and pilates for two hours a day. But cannot lose an inch. Why can't I? Please Help me. I am begging here!

Answer
Dear Delphia, Let's get down to basics of how to lose weight. The basics are diet and exercise. You are doing the exercise, but your diet is probably not right. Write down everything you eat and drink, look up the calories of the food you are eating and keep track of the totals. To lose weight you will have to eat 1500-1800 calories per day. You could have 5 meals equaling 300-350 calories each meal, or three meals per day equaling about 500-575 calories per meal. You can lose 2 pounds per week or more following this eating plan. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
