Burn it.

Question
Heyy. I'm 14, soon to turn 15 (September).
Approximately 4 months ago, I went vegetarian. I've cut out red meat, poultry, and most fish (need my tuna).
One handy side affect to this, was a sudden drop in body weight. I went from 135lb to 126.5lb in about 2 weeks, and people noticed.

However, I am not at a weight I am comfortable with, and I feel I do not look my best. This is motivation enough for me. I stopped losing weight when I hit the 126.5lb mark. I've just not lost any more. So I cut out most of the extra sugars and fatty snacks. I still eat pizza for example, just less of it.

One thing I have noticed since and am wondering about. I feel I require LESS food. A comment a friend made at a sleep over a while back on my pizza consumption compared to everyone elses in attendance: "you just don';t require feeding, do you?"
I don't eat a lot anymore, because Im never really hungry anymore. I don't get it.

Do you have any tips on burning maximum body fat, or just losing the flab in general - as thats what I want to do. I'm rather active in marching band and track, so I have a lot of leg and upper arm muscle, i just would like to lose the excess flab so I'm more comfortable in my body, and I feel that I am healthier. I run a lot, early in the morning, and strength train with light weights and a lot of repetitions. Thank you.

Answer
Hello Nay,
Thanks for your question.
What I am getting is that you are not comfortable with your body weight because you feel that you do not "look" your best.

My question... how much better could you look?  I do not think that weight has anything to do with appearance.  I have met very large people who have tremendous appeal and charisma and I have met small people who lack energy and attractiveness.  Consider that your weight is fine and that you do look your best.

I do not have any "tips on burning maximum body fat" other than to recognize that "what we resist will persist" so if you persist in the conversation that you do not like your body... guess what? ... you will not like your body.

Instead, you may wish to focus on how strong you are to do track and marching band.  Take pride in the efforts you have made to create a healthy body and recognize that you do have a healthy body.  You can enjoy your great health and feeling good about yourself if you allow yourself.  This will be much more attractive to others than losing another 10 lbs. anyway.

Best,
Mary Jo
