Question
Hello, my name is Jessica.
I had a question about doing cardio on an empty stomach. Now some people say that its better not to eat before doing cardio so that you burn off fat instead of food. Others say that you need to eat to ensure that you dont burn muscle mass. And yet again others say that it strictly depends on the time of day, if in the morning eat first, if in the late afternoon dont eat. So you can understand my confusion.
If I work at about 70%,(trying to stay in my fat burning zone)and usually work out in the afternoon what would be the best thing for me. Should I eat or not?
Thank you for your time.

Answer
Jessica,
I would make sure you have something light in your stomach.  You will not be able to workout at your best or get the most out of your workout if your body is not fueled properly.  Don't eat something and than workout right away but eat something light within about an hour or so of working out.
