Pilates Exercise

Question
I have recently started a class in pilates as well as a power sculpting class. I have not conciously exercise in about  a year. I have moderately watched my eating habits on and off for years.
This time around will be my final time around with the weight loss battle and healthy eating fight....
I eat healthy meals and attempt to burn more calories than I consume but my question is concerning the pilates class i am taking.
If I take this class twice a week and a yoga class once a week will this help in my weight loss and muscle tone? I am incorporating cardio right after or before the classes.
Is this good exercise I am doing?
I did try to do a power scultping class but found my body to be really sore and imomble for days....
Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Answer
I think the key to exercising is choosing an activity that you enjoy enough to stick with for the long run.

Your combination sounds very reasonable, and a good mix of cardio and toning/flexibility.

As far as the soreness, you should work into the routine slowly and incorporate stretching both before and after your workouts.  Certainly Yoga and Pilates may incorporate this.  It's worthwhile warming down for 15 to 20 minutes after your classes and cardio.
