Question
Hello, I have been interested in changing my lifestyle to an all raw vegetable and animal food diet.
However, i am a bit confused and am wondering if you could give me insight to the foods, in particular meat, that i can eat.

Does the meat/fish/chicken have to be organic?
Can I go to any supermarket to get the the meat, or does it have to be some special meat?

thankyou!

Answer
No, meat does not have to be organic, but it must be as grassfed as possible. The lowest quality meats you should get are grain-finished meats(where the animal is usually raised on grass but fed on grains in the last few months prior to slaughter), but most opt for 100 percent grassfed meats or raw wild game if they can get hold of them instead, as they are far superior in quality.

Generally speaking, supermarkets usually offer only very low quality foods, and are often more pricey than one expects. They are to be mostly avoided unless you can find a cheap source of raw grassfed meats in those places. Even then, it is in your interests to buy direct from a small-time grassfed meat farmer and the like. Here is a whole list of threads which are useful for newbies to know. Some threads mention ways to cut down on costs or where to buy raw foods, while others focus specifically on what sort of raw foods to buy etc.:-
