Atkins Diet: phases and calorie intake

Hello I am on Atkins, and am wondering if you stay in Induction for awhile, if it will stop working and you'll stop losing? Especially if I only have like 15 lbs to lose.  Also, if I limit my calories as well and carbs, will I lose more weight?  thanks!

Dear Misskitty,

Sorry but you are not on Atkins because being on this diet means following the phases Dr Atkins prescribed and not counting calories. Is this good or bad for you, is a different question.

First of all, why would you want to do this if most of Atkins dieters decrease their calorie intake up to 30 percent without intentionally limiting calorie intake just because as soon as ketosis develops, appetite becomes lower. Secondly, their energy expenditure increases due to more intensive heat dissipation through the skin. Please read details here:
